Description
In Dhaka City, most plots take on a narrow rectangular shape where the narrow face is the road front. However, this project defies the norm with its expansive eastern frontage. Like all projects under real estate developers, the client gets a share of the apartments built. In the case of this project, the architect proposed a concept to impart individualistic character, elevating the spatial experience. This idea proficiently combines communal and individual lifestyles within an urban context, enhancing the overall development.
The design combines two shaped-up separate building blocks amidst the plot dividing the space between the landowner and the developer. To optimize ventilation with the eastern breeze, the bedrooms are strategically allocated at the front. Recognizing the prolonged exposure to sunlight on the eastern face, the design incorporates deep-set verandas. A corbelled facade also adds depth and visual interest. The layout is efficiently planned with a spacious living area unfolding to the dining space. Bedrooms are positioned on the east side to maximize natural light, while service facilities are thoughtfully placed on the west.
However, it has a simplistic yet elegant design, featuring a double-height entrance that exudes a sense of grandeur.
