Description
Envisioning a new city necessitates the incorporation of breathing space as a fundamental element. The proposed Sarobar is intended to serve as the heart of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, acting as an oasis and central hub of the green network across the entire city. The concept of establishing such a green core aligns with global appreciation for new city development.
In an era where the global economy is increasingly interconnected, the potential of a new industrial city carries far-reaching implications. To gain acceptance and recognition on the global stage, it cannot be perceived solely as an industrial development; it must establish a sustainable and profound connection with nature, fostering an environment that encourages inhabitants to feel a genuine bond with the natural surroundings.
As the largest economic zone planned by the Bangladesh government, this Shilpa Nagar boasts inherent site-specific advantages for an economic zone, meticulously planned through thoughtful land use design. It features a well functioning traffic movement plan, environmental management, robust infrastructure, security, utilities, amenities, warehouses, and all necessary facilities for an economic zone. However, it also aspires to contribute to the preservation of surrounding water bodies, enhancing the experiential value of its peninsular location.
The proposed project aligns with this vision. In line with this forward-thinking vision, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) determines the development of Sheikh Hasina Sarobar within the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN). This lake, anticipated to be the largest man-made lake in Bangladesh, will boast international standard facilities and amenities, serving as a focal point of attraction for local and international investors, industrialists, BSMSN workforce, and the general population.
