Description

The renovation of Kamruzzaman Central Park has transformed it into a significant icon and distinguished identity of the city for Padma in Rajshahi. The linear park connects the central city and the Padma river banks through a serpentine looped road. The Zoo is a distinct feature of the park that includes bird aviaries, protective shelters and separate settings for ferocious animals. The redesign incorporated an amphitheater and picnic spots. Additionally, the Ferris wheel offers a scenic view of Padma and the surrounding area, making it a prime attraction spot. The whole redevelopment followed the natural contour of the area and delineated through the existing trees. Permeable paving over the re-excavated canal and the use of natural materials enhance the natural environment and reform the park as a prime tourist attraction point and recreational zone of the city, depicting its uniqueness to foreign visitors as well as the locals.
