VITTI’s “Polymathic Journey of Regeneration & Reuse” featured in TIME SPACE EXISTENCE at Venice Architecture Biennale 2025

On May 10, 2025, VITTI’s long-anticipated solo exhibition “Polymathic Journey of Regeneration and Reuse” was inaugurated in Time Space Existence series curated by the European Cultural Centre for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025. The opening was graced by UIA President Regina Gonthier, Immediate Past President José Luis Cortés, Vice President Teresa Taboas, and VITTI co-founder Iqbal Habib, along with architects Ishtiaque Zahir and Ehsan Khan.

The exhibition traces how seemingly chaotic urban environments like Dhaka and Narayanganj hold within them a deeper spatial logic, revealed through large-scale interventions such as the Redevelopment of Hatirjheel, Baburail Canal Restoration, and the Revitalization of 18 DNCC Parks. It then moves through multimedia narratives that capture transformation as a living, participatory process, emphasizing community-driven regeneration. Further on, the exhibition shifts focus to urban, semi-urban and rural settings, where projects like Ekmattra School, Baral Biddya Niketan, Bon-er-Bari, and institutional buildings like the British Council Learning Centre, Nagar Bhaban, and Krishibid Institute illustrates vitti’s architecture that flows with nature rather than resist it. Each is grounded in renewable materials and time tested age-old techniques, contributing spaces that are environmentally attuned and socially inclusive.
