To receive the Award VITTI Sthapati Brindo Ltd Directors, Architect Iqbal Habib and Architect Ishtiaque Zahir were present in Hong Kong along with the client, RAJUK Chairman Engr. Md. Rezaul Islam at the ceremony held on 27 November 2025 at CIC–Zero Carbon Park, Hong Kong.
The Asian Townscape Awards are collaboratively presented by UN-HABITAT, Asian Habitat Society (AHS), Fukuoka Asian Urban Research Center (URC), and Asia Townscape Design Society (ATDeS). This year, 11 projects from 7 countries were selected from 72 submissions across Asia, and both Bangladesh and India secured notable achievements among the five award categories. Dhaka received the Asian Townscape Award 2025 for the lake and water body development category for its Hatirjheel integrated development project. Previously,y Bangladesh received 3 Jurors Award, but it's the first time Dhaka received the project as the city for lakes and lakeside area development.
The Hatirjheel project’s success reflects the combined efforts of all stakeholders involved in creating a sustainable and model lakeside urban environment.
