Description
The Nassa Diamond is a thirteen-storey office building, situated in the coalesced area of Gulshan, amid concrete urban fabric on a linear site. The sculptural glass form has been perceived out of a box. The project ensures optimum use of space with a maximum setback on the ground floor. The void spaces and terrace gardens extend throughout the vertical height of the building, existing at various scales at different levels, reducing the impact of the concrete jungle in the surrounding area. The design endeavor improves the surrounding environment for pedestrians by eliminating boundary usage and allowing shared views of these spaces. Further, the facade is treated in two layers: an external frosted vertical louvers screen for optimal shading and an inner layer of clear glass for flexibility in case of power loss. This maximizes transparency and glare-free sunlight, enhancing the work space's visibility. The ground office floor area is compromised, providing space for an entry plaza and water body. Users and visitors follow a flight of stairs or a ramp to the ground level, which leads to a raised plaza leading to the core. The core contains lifts, stairs, washrooms, fire control rooms, and pantries. A space for cars to be held before entering the ramp reduces pressure on the building environment and avoids chaos on the driveway. The building also has two basements and one semi-basement parking space.
