Description
The Bashabo Tarun Shangho Club, one of Dhaka City's oldest football clubs, is renowned for its contributions to sports such as football, cricket, badminton, and carom. The club is located on the edge of the Bashabo Central Playground, providing an urban recreational arena with a "public for all" approach. The design includes a datum for functions such as the primary entrance, club lounge, entry lounge, gymnasium, and public toilet. The walkways and footpaths are designed according to international standards, providing facilities for the blind and differently-abled. Loop walking is facilitated for physical health, and striped and dotted tiles are used for blind people and ramps for differently-abled individuals. The main field is designed to ensure green grass cover throughout the year and a quick water discharge system to prevent rain-related sports. We tried to go beyond necessity by considering frame of mind rather than aesthetics. The cantilever roof features a spherical punch placed slightly off-center, creating a visually pleasing backdrop of an azure sky and green trees. The landscape is anchored by massive trees that shade the seating area, providing children with a sense of active energy. The lush playground oasis features steps rising slowly from the ground and gently turning into platforms and slopes, with plantings including shrubs and shade-loving perennials. This space will create memories for visitors, whether they are reading a book beneath the tree, talking with friends, or attending events.
