Description
In the proposed design, a small compound can be placed as a buffer between the outpatient department and inpatient department to make the clinic more efficient for users. The outpatient space should be kept as open as possible and directly at the entrance. Those who take inpatient services will be deeper inside the clinic zones. The courtyard will create a buffer between the two zones. The internal courtyard will also serve as a light well for the clinic. There will be a waiting area for inpatients next to this place. The roof of the clinics has been designed as a vault. This has several aesthetic and functional benefits. The vaulted roof will create a prominent signature look for all the prototypical CCs of Keraniganj. Vaults create more vertical space in the interior and allow different types of natural light and passive ventilation. In the proposed design, the end of the vaulted roof is attached to the gutter. The exposed end of the gutter is connected to a specially prepared gutter filled with gravel to conserve rainwater. A large amount of dirt carried by the rainwater will be trapped in this gravel and only rainwater will be stored in the lower chamber; which will be stored in the main underwater reservoir or in the portable water tank. The windows proposed in the design are divided into three vertical sections. The upper two parts will be of the awning system and the lower part will be fixed. The windows will be made by attaching wooden louvers, glass, safety grills, and mosquito nets. The Wooden Louver will resist the angle of sunlight and rain (Figure: Windows system). Moreover, these louvers will keep the interior of the room out of sight. Wooden louvers and glass will also be used in the elevation of the vaulted roof. An emergency ambulance parking space will be provided and waiting space will be used for regular service and medical awareness seminars. A traditional vault architecture expression will be introduced to create an architectural identity and communal connection with the users.
