Description
In an era where constructing one's own living space has become increasingly challenging, apartments have emerged as the preferred for many. With this in mind, the concept was to design a spacious and well-lit environment and try to achieve this, strategically creating a surface for cross ventilation on the north side. To optimize this, we positioned the bedrooms on both the north and south sides, seamlessly binding with the dining, living, and family areas. This space serves as the cohesive core of the apartment to personalize and craft its own distinctive nest. Take advantage of the south-facing orientation, most bedrooms are placed in the south with balconies to capture the gentle southern breeze. These balconies are intentionally designed asymmetrically, adding an aesthetic dimension to the south facade. Further, on either side of the service core, void spaces have been incorporated to bring light to both the staircase and the interior of the apartment. The front elevation employs cladding brick, a prime rooted in its environmental and thermal responsiveness. Additionally, a spacious double-height area in the ground enhances the ambiance, providing both residents and passersby with wide views. As night falls, carefully positioned lighting gives the impression of the structure hovering above the ground. The inclusion of a koi pond on the ground level adds a peaceful element to the environment, complemented by a pedestrian bridge above it, providing residents with a scenic vantage point to enjoy the tranquil water feature below. The design combines functionality, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability, creating a unique residence that empowers residents to curate their personal space, elevating the concept of apartment living beyond the ordinary.
