Description
Our design approach for this park centered on crafting unique solutions tailored to its specific challenges and advantages. Addressing deficiencies such as the absence of grass and inadequate drainage, as well as the unevenness of the footpath, was paramount. Notably, the park's layout presented both drawbacks and benefits, with mature, leafy trees encircling its perimeter, and diverse plot and road configurations adjacent to it.
Beginning with the park entrance, a focal point of our design process, we capitalized on the site's inherent appeal near surrounding roadways. Our aim was to reimagine the entry experience, enticing all to venture within. We orchestrated an ambiance that broadened perspectives from the exterior, drawing attention to every corner of the park and beckoning exploration.
Seeking harmony in the varied architectural elements—solid forms, voids, ribbon windows, cylindrical columns, and cantilevered roofs—we aimed to blur distinctions between built structures and natural surroundings. Fence designs symbolize branching patterns, seamlessly integrating with the landscape. Walking paths were envisioned as carpets of light and shadow, enhancing pedestrian experiences.
A distinctive feature of the design is the off-center placement of a spherical punch atop the cantilevered roof, providing visitors with a captivating vista of the open sky. The juxtaposition of azure skies and verdant trees serves as a picturesque backdrop, complemented by the presence of a Royal Poinciana tree adjacent to the structure. Visitors are encouraged to witness the tree's stunning blooms in early spring, which, when viewed from below, create a mesmerizing spectacle as petals appear to float through the transparent shield of the punch, enhancing the park's natural allure.
